NC’s Nasir decries shocking mismanagement at Dargah Hazratbal

Administration insensitive to the sentiments of people

Srinagar: National Conference on Friday lashed out at the Chief Minister and the State Administration for abject mismanagement, chaos and lack of basic facilities at Dargah Hazratbal during the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and said this was yet another instance that exposed the Chief Minister’s disrespect and insensitivity towards the sentiments of the people.

“The state of mismanagement and chaos at Dargah Hazratbal was unprecedented and shocking to say the least. From mismanagement and lack of organization during the congregational prayers to a complete chaos in the parking arrangements for devotees who had come from all across the State, the Government’s ineptness and insensitivity was at shameful display during one of the most important and auspicious occasions for Muslims,” NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said in a statement issued from Party Head Office, ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar on Friday.

The NC Provincial President said the fact that the Administration didn’t even bother to put in place flooring and carpet arrangements despite biting cold on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was shocking.

“From a complete failure to ensure that the audio system was in place and functioning before the congregational prayers to the fact that even the Imam Sahib had to face a lot of inconvenience to reach the pulpit to lead the prayers and the shocking absence of adequate carpeting, it was heartbreaking to see how the Administration couldn’t have it in their hearts to ensure basic facilities on such an auspicious occasion”, the NC Provincial President said in the statement.

The NC Provincial President said the Chief Minister should tender a public apology to the people for this gross insensitivity and arrogance.
