Beijing: China on Thursday claimed that an Indian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) intruded into Chinese airspace before crashing on it’s side on the Sino-Indian western border, reported the Xinhua.
The report further said that China’s military has voiced strong dissatisfaction and opposition to the intrusion of the UAV into China’s airspace.
“The Indian UAV intruded into China’s airspace and crashed recently, and China’s border troops have conducted identification and verification over the vehicle, “said Zhang Shuili, deputy head of the combat bureau of the Western Theater Command’s joint staff department.
“India’s move has infringed upon China’s territorial sovereignty, and we are strongly dissatisfied with and opposed to this,” Zhang said.
“We will fulfill our mission and responsibility and defend China’s national sovereignty and security resolutely,” he noted.
The Xinhua report did not share any detail about when or exactly where the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had violated the Sino-Indian border but quoted a senior officer as saying that the drone was identified to be Indian.
Since the Doklam border standoff, the worst between the two neighbours since decades, this is for the first time that a new friction has come up.
