Brahmagupta-II discovered gravity, not Newton, says the Minister who believes cow exhales oxygen

Remember the Minister who had said that the cow is the only animal in the world which inhales and exhales oxygen?

Well, Rajasthan’s Education Minister Vasudev Devnani is in the news again for all the wrong reasons.

According to Devnani, it was Brahmagupta-II who discovered gravity, that too a 1000 years before Issac Newton. The Education Minister was speaking at a university in Rajasthan.

“We all have studied that Newton gave the law of gravitation, but delving deeper, we can find that Brahmagupta-II came up with the theory of gravitation 1,000 years before (Newton). Why don’t we include this fact in the curriculum?” Devnani asked.

The Minister while stressing that education should be value based said that the school curriculum was changed and close to 200 Indian personalities, including Rajput king Maharana Pratap, were included.

The BJP leader also mentioned while referring to the student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, said that ‘no Kanhaiya should be born in Rajasthan.’

The JNU student leader was arrested in 2016 for alleged sedition and criminal conspiracy over holding an event related to the hanging of the parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru.
