WMDA created Tourist Infrastructure worth Rs 8 crores at Wullar Lake: Veeri

Jammu: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that Wullar-Manasbal Development Authority since its inception has created infrastructure in the areas adjacent to the Wullar Lake involving a cost of Rs 8.08 crore including Tourist Parks, Bird watchers, Springs, Tourist Facilitation Centre, among others.

Replying to a point raised by legislator, Usman Abdul Majid in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister informed the House that the existing Tourism Development Authority is developing the areas of Manasbal and Wullar proportionately and there seems no need to create separate Development Authority for Wullar.

Giving further details, the Minister informed the House that in pursuance of Cabinet Decision No. 262-TSM of 2005 dated 27.12.2005, Wullar-Manasbal Tourism Development Authority has been created and is fully functional in order to develop both the areas of Wullar and Manasbal so that basic facilities are provided to the visiting tourists.
