Dy Speaker announces one hour debate on MLAs allegations
Jammu: Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi here on Wednesday announced one hour debate on the allegations of the members of both the ruling combine and the opposition parties over the allegations of disrespect shown by ministers and officers to the demands of the MLAs.
Cutting across party lines the members including Mohammad Khalil Bandh PDP, CPI (M) Secretary M Y Tarigami, PDP MLA Mohammad Ashraf Mir, NC MLA Altaf Kuloo, PC MLA Bashir Ahmad Dar and several others alleged that the powers of MLAs is being undermined and are dubbed just upper ground workers of the ministers.
They alleged that officers particularly Deputy Commissioners comply the orders of ministers empowered to transfer them from one place to the other and they (Officers) according to members openly take pride in expressing the belief that they are bound to comply the orders of those only who can transfer them from one place to the other.
