Hold peaceful protests against the killing spree of Kashmiris on Friday: JRL

Srinagar: Strongly condemning the killing of a 17-year old boy near the gunfight site in Shopian, the Joint Resistance Leadership has said that a ‘well-planned genocide of Kashmir’s young generation is taking place under the patronage of rulers in J&K.’

In a statement, JRL which comprises of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Mumar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have called for peaceful protests after the Friday prayers.

The statement added that time and again bullets are showered on the peaceful protestors resulting in the killing of young boys and girls.

“We believe this is a well-planned genocide of Kashmir’s young generation which is taking place under the patronage of rulers in J&K. We urge the people to stage peaceful protest against the killing spree after Friday prayers in each nook and corner of Valley,” the JRL said while strongly condemning the killing of 17-year old Shakir Ahmed of Shopian.

The JRL also asked the Imams of all the masjids and shrines to register their protest against the unabated killings of Kashmiri people by the “trigger-happy” forces.
