Shopian civilian murders: March to the Parliament, urge Delhi to stop ‘genocide’ of Kashmiris, Rasheed dares Mehbooba, Omar

Srinagar: Independent MLA Engineer Rasheed said on Monday that chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and leader of the opposition Omar Abdullah with other legislators should march to the parliament and urge New Delhi to find a permanent solution of the Kashmir issue.

The lawmaker said in a statement, “If Mehbooba and Omar Abdhulah both express anger and anguish over the killings but are not able to convince forces to respect the right to life for Kashmiris, let them along with other legislators take out a march from Kashmir house in New Delhi to the Parliament House, urging New Delhi to stop the genocide of Kashmiris.”

He further added in the statement, “It will definitely shake the conscience of billions of people in India and elsewhere. Not only the forces would become accountable but there would be no option left with new Delhi to find out a permanent resolution to the J&K dispute.”

Rasheed, in a statement, while ridiculing and rejecting the debate over Shopian murders in assembly, said that the whole debate was a fixed match and added that neither NC nor PDP is sincere in ensuring to protect the life and honour of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“While masses are tired of hearing discussions in the assembly for the want of concrete results on the ground, NC and PDP seem busy in scoring cheap points over each other,” Rasheed said in the statement.

He pointed out that before showing sympathy to the families of the murdered youth, CM needs to answer what his coalition partners are saying about the incident.

“She first needs to answer the queries raised by BJP in and outside the assembly. How it is possible that Ravinder Raina calls the deceased unarmed innocents as terrorists, praises army for butchering them and demands withdrawal of FIR against the army. And their leader Mehbooba Mufti talks about anger in Kashmir youth,” Rasheed said.

He added, “Similar is the case with Omar Abdhullah who shamelessly does not hesitate in calling stone pelters as jilted lovers. The house has collectively failed the people of state as the one point agenda of mainstream parties seems ruling Kashmiris at all costs on rotational basis.”

Rasheed also appealed the joint Resistance Leadership to collect the donations from the masses and pay a handsome amount to the Shopian martyrs so that ‘New Delhi doesn’t dare to fix the cost of their life worth Rs 5 lacs and a class 4th job under SRO 43.’
