The Jammu and Kashmir police spokesperson on Monday evening said that said that there is ‘no proof’ that Kashmiri student Suhail Aijaz Kataria who went missing from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar since February 9 has been abducted.
He said there is no substantial and confirmed evidence as of now that Suhail, a resident of Kupwara has been abducted.
With mystery still shrouding the disappearance of Kashmiri AIIMS student Suhail Aijaz, the recovery of a suspected Maoist poster in Bhubaneswar claiming that Kashmiri youth has been abducted had created panic on Monday.

The suspected Maoist poster was put up near Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar claiming that Suhail has been kidnapped by the rebels.
According to OdishaTV, in the poster, the Maoists have threatened to kill Suhail if their leader Sabyasachi Panda, who is currently lodged in jail, is not released within seven days. The rebels through the poster also threatened to carry out bomb explosions at various places in the city including railway station if the State Government does not pay heed to their demand.
Pursuing MBBS in AIIMS Medical College in Odhisa, Suhail Aijaz had gone missing from February 9. Aijaz Ahmad Kataria, father of Suhail Aijaz, who was pursuing MBBS since 2016 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar, Odisha toldnews agency GNS that his son called him on Feb 6, asking for depositing money in his account.
“I deposited money in his account on next day (Feb 7),” Aijaz, a resident of Marsari Chowkibal, Kupwara said, adding “since then there is no contact with him. We waited till Feb 20, thinking that he might call and as he might be busy with studies”.
Suhail’s mother, through social media, has urged him to return home. A video of the same has reportedly gone viral on social media. Suhail’s mother, in the video, urged him to return for the sake of her and the family.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti had tweeted to the Chief Minster’s Office of Odisha to investigate and “take swift action”.

New Delhi based India today had reported that a note saying ‘I Quit’ was found by Odisha Police.
“Police made a preliminary enquiry and found that he (Suhail) left a note saying ‘I quit’. We traced his location to Kolkata. His number is switched off till date,” Rajendra Prasad Sharma, DGP Odisha, said.
“One of our teams will go to Kolkata tomorrow. We have registered a missing person case,” Sharma added.
