TeH Chief Sehrai’s son missing for over 24 hours, went for Friday prayers, hasn’t returned

The son of new Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, has gone missing since Friday afternoon.

According to a report in Srinagar based Kashmir Life, City Police Chief, Imtiyaz Ismail, confirmed that they have received a complaint from the Sehrai family.

“We have taken the complaint and we are looking into it,” the officer told Kashmir Life.

Sources close to Sehrai family said, Junaid Ashraf Khan, left for Friday prayers near his house in Baghat locality and has not returned since. The family waited for his return but when he did not reach home, they approached the police.

Sehrai took over the leadership of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, last week from Syed Ali Geelani. The two have been close associates for more than last six decades.

In an interview with the Greater Kashmir, Sehrai had said that ISIS/Daesh and such ideologies will never be accepted.

“Daesh and Al-Qaeda have nothing to do with our movement and we will never accept them,” Sehrai said. He urged youth not to get swayed by the extremist ideology and understand Islam in its correct perspective.

Sehrai, while expressing concern over the raising of ISIS flags during the funeral of Eisa Fazili, said that TeH will chart out a plan to stop them after their elections.
