Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik on Sunday called for a Kashmir-wide shutdown. The Shutdown call is for Sunday and Monday.

The call has been given in view of militant killings in south Kashmir.

At least eight militants, including top commanders, were killed in separate gunfights in Anantnag and Shopian districts. At least four militants have been surrounded by the forces in Kachdor village.

Official sources said that eleven militants have been killed in the twin operations at Dragad and Kachdor. They said seven militants were killed in Dragad, and four killed in Kachdora where the gunfight was ongoing.

The JRL has asked people to suspend business and other activities and offer funeral prayers in absentia at 4 pm across Kashmir valley.
