Make moral lessons part of morning school assembly: Education Minister tells teachers

Jammu: Minister for Finance, Education Labour and Employment, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has urged the teachers to revive the practice of imparting moral lessons in morning assembly in schools as it is badly needed to save our posterity from evil effects of material world.

“There is impending need to make moral education a part of academics to produce good human beings. I fear distancing education from our value system has started showing ugly effects on our social character,” the Minister said after inaugurating a newly established private school here at Domana.

The school, Sant Gurubaksh Singh Danna Memorial international school has been established by SGSD Trust to provide modern education to children of the area at highly affordable fee of Rs 4 thousand per annum.

“All religions teach to love fellow human beings and these values can be best reinforced in the society through educational institutions, religious preachers and those who have dedicated themselves to human cause,” the Minister said.

The Minister assured full support to head of the Trust Sant Tejivent Singh from the government to enable the school management to achieve its objective of serving the people.
