Srinagar: Another civilian identified as Aijaz Ahmad Palla, a resident of Batpora Khudwani who was injured during clashes near the gun fight sight, succumbed to his injuries.
Palla had sustained a bullet injury in his head on Wednesday. He was rushed to the hospital however, reports say, that he died on the way.
With the killing of Palla, the civilian death toll has reached 4 while an Army man was also killed and around 50 civilians and two forces personnel were injured earlier in the day.
The civilian deaths occur just two days after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met the Prime Minister and Defence Minister of India. In her meeting with Narendra Modi, she had appealed for finding ways to end the bloodshed and alienation in the valley.
During her meeting with Nirmala Sitharaman, Mehbooba had called for a ‘humane approach and avoiding collateral damage during security operations’.
