Police files chargesheet against two travel agents for black marketing of Amarnath Yatra chopper tickets

Srinagar: A Case FIR No. 07 of 2017 was registered by Tourist Police Station in the month of July 2017 on a written complaint of one pilgrim, a resident of New Delhi, to the effect that the said pilgrim along with his friends were cheated by the Travel Agents of Srinagar as they were being provided helicopter tickets on exorbitant prices during Amaranth pilgrimage in the year 2017.

During investigation of the case it came to fore that two travel agents of Srinagar were selling the helicopter tickets to the pilgrims at rates higher than those approved by ‘Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board’ at Rs 7,500 per helicopter ticket as the actual fare of one chopper ticket was Rs 3,430 from baltal sector.

As per the evidences collected during investigation offences under sections 420, 34 RPC- 32,36 (2) RW section 2 (g) tourist trade act , sources said, were established & proved against two Travel Agents of Srinagar.

As a follow up the Tourist Police Station filed a charge sheet against them before the court of 13th Finance JMIC Srinagar on 19.04.2018, for judicial determination.
