Youth stabbed to death in Kathua, three arrested

A Student was stabbed to death after two groups clashed with each other in Billawar area of Kathua district in Jammu on Wednesday.

The youth has been identified as 22-year old Liyakat Ali.  He was rushed to GMC&H Jammu where he succumbed at around 11:40 pm.

The police, in a statement said that ‘after strenuous efforts’ they have arrested three accused persons.

Police added that a case FIR no 49/18 u/s 307 RPC was registered following a complaint by the sister of the deceased Nishant Kouser at Police Station Billawar.

In her complaint, she said that her brother Liyaqat Ali, son of Munir Hussein, a resident of Ther (Billawar) has been stabbed with sharp edged weapon at village Dher by Abhishek Sharma, son of Ramakant, a resident of Nowshera Mahanpur and Honey Khajuria, son of Ram Parkash, a resident of Dher Billawar.

She also said that the accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.

“Instantly Case FIR No 49/18 u/s 307 RPC was registered and investigation started. Inspector Amit Sangra SHO Police Station Billawar immediately constituted special teams to raid at different locations to nab the culprits,” said the spokesman.

“After strenuous efforts, three accused persons have been arrested within hours of the incident along with car.”
