All Party Meet: General feeling is that Kashmir needs a political outreach, says Akhtar

After the All Party Meet called by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the Government Spokesman Naeem Akhtar said that the all the participants felt that a political outreach is needed in Kashmir.

Talking to reporters outside SKICC Srinagar, where the meet was being held, Akhtar, who is also the works minister said, “The general feeling is that there should be a political outreach on Kashmir.”

He also pointed out that that the Agenda for Alliance and the deficiencies in its implementation were also mentioned.

Akhtar said that the participants also called the present dispensation in New Delhi to follow Vajpayee’s 2002 initiatives. The meeting has been called to discuss the security situation in the wake of killing of fresh militant and civilian killings in the Valley, especially south Kashmir.

Earlier Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Chairman of the Hurriyat (M) in a tweet had called the All Party Meet a ‘farce’.
