CRPF accident: CCTV footage shows no stone pelting took place, driver lost control, says Police

19 CRPF personnel were injured in an accident at Bemina in Srinagar, however the IG CRPF had said that accident took place due to stone pelting.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police while refuting such charges said that that the CCTV footage shows that no stone pelting took place in the area.

IG CRPF Ravideep Sahi, according to GNS news agency, had claimed that “some miscreants pelted stones” on the vehicle, causing the accident. SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray, according to GNS news agency, said that based on CCTV camera footage it is clear that there was no stone pelting going on in the area.

He said the mishap occurred as the CRPF driver lost control over the vehicle.

“The CCTV footage was procured and it is clearly seen that the driver lost control which resulted in the mishap,” SSP said, adding the 19 troopers were injured in the incident.
