Ahead of rally police raid house of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir in the night

Qazi Yasir however had gone into hiding to be able to lead the rally

The Jammu Kashmir Police late night on Tuesday reportedly raided the house of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir in South Kashmir’s Anantnag.

According to the Kashmiriyat, the police party raided the house around 11:15 pm to arrest Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir from his house, who was scheduled to lead a pro Freedom rally tomorrow.

The police was unable to arrest Mirwaiz as he has gone into a hiding and will lead a rally from Jamia Masjid tomorrow after Zuhr prayers.

The Ummat e Islami (UI), on Monday, had called for a complete shutdown in South Kashmir on the 24th death anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed.

Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad was one of the founders of Muslim United Front (MUF) and was killed by unidentified gunmen in Dialgam village of Islamabad on June 19, 1994. In a press statement, the UI said that a rally will be also be taken out on Tuesday to commemorate the anniversary from Jamia Masjid, Islamabad at 1:30 pm.

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) also paid rich and glowing tributes to Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed on his 24th death anniversary.
