Nine forces’ personnel injured in Tral grenade attack, Hizb claims responsibility

In a militant attack, nine police and CRPF personnel were injured when they lobbed a grenade at them in Tral area of Pulwama on Friday. Police also said that they also fired at the joint party who were handling law and order security situation on Tral road.

Meanwhile, militant outfit Hizb ul Mujhadeen has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Hizb’s operational Spokesperson Burhanuddin, according to newsg agency CNS, said that the attack was carried out on the forces “when they were on way to suppress people.”

Cops also said the forces exercised maximum restraint after being attacked by the militants to prevent any civilian casualties. The injured forces personnel were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier during the day in a gunfight, four militants, including the chief of IS in Jammu and Kashmir, were killed in Srigufwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday, the police said.
