Srinagar: In an overnight gunfight that broke out late Sunday in the forest area of northern Kashmir Handwara, one militant has been killed, police said on Monday.
Police said that in an ongoing gunfight, an unidentified militant was killed early this morning.
Earlier while acting on the specific information about the presence of militants in a forest area of Handwara, the forces launched a cordon and search operation, triggering gunfight.
The operation was underway when this report was filed.
