Landmine horror returns to haunt LoC; Uri resident injured, shifted to Srinagar’s B&J Hospital  

Srinagar: Abdul Hamid Lone, 40, son of Abdul Rashid Lone of Rachawali village of Uri’s Nambla was injured in a landmine blast on Tuesday when he accidentally stepped over it near Rustum post-UK near LoC in Uri sector, while cutting grass.

An official from the police department while confirming the incident to Free Press Kashmir said, “The injured has been shifted to Bone and Joint hospital in Barzulla after being treated at Sub District hospital Uri, as he has suffered multiple fractures in his leg”.

Landmines laid in No man’s land to restrain infiltration have already claimed many on Line of Control.

Last month, in a similar incident, Mohammad Yousuf Jeendhar, 42, resident of Churanda, accidentally stepped on a landmine in Uri and was critically wounded.
