Government will establish residential schools for specially abled children: DSEK

Srinagar: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr GN Itoo directed the government to establish residential schools each in Srinagar and Jammu for specially abled children.

This was stated at a function organized by Zonal Education Office, Rainawari. SSA State Coordinator TR Mangotra, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mudasir Kaleem Fazili and other concerned were also present on the occasion.

The function provided 200 specially-abled children with free aids worth Rs 10.00 lakh under SSA. They were also provided with wheelchairs, smart can, smartphone, daisy player, MR kit, ADL kit, hearing aids, braille kit and other aids during the function.

The DSEK said that the department was at the forefront in providing quality education to the differently-abled children. “These children are an important part of the society and it is our duty to help them,” he stated.
