Srinagar: On Wednesday, Professor Talat Ahmed was appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, whereas Manoj Dhar took over as the vice chancellor of Jammu University.
Registrar Jammu University Meenakshi Kilam confirmed that Prof Dhar took over as the VC of the varsity, while a source at KU confirmed Talat Ahmed’s appointment.
Professor Talat Ahmed has earlier served as the KU VC from 2012-2014. He had been given a three year extension six months ahead but had been appointed as the VC of Jamia Millia Islamia for next five years. His term is expected to end in 2019.
