In the ongoing gunfight between militants and the armed forces in the Kokernag area of Anantnag district, a militant has been killed. A civilian also got injured during the clashes near the gunfight site.
According to the news agency GNS, two or three militants are believed to the trapped.
“Body of a militant has been recovered from the site of the gunfight,” said an official. The identity of the slain was not immediately known.
A civilian was injured during clashes with the forces near the site of the gunfight in Gadol village.
The injured, identified as Yawar Ahmad, was brought to district hospital Anantnag for treatment. A doctor treating him said Ahmad has suffered a bullet injury in the back of his head.
Authorities have snapped Internet service in parts of Anantnag district in the wake of the gunfight.
