Militants killed four policemen in an attack in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, police said. Reports said that the militants opened fire on an escort party of the DSP headquarters Shopian in Bongam area after which they suffered bullet wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed.
The slain were identified as Javed Ahmad, Muhammad Iqbal, Adil and Ishfaq.
A police source said the bodied were shifted to District Police Lines, Shopian.
