Srinagar: As the Supreme Court of India deferred the hearing of a bunch of petitions challenging the Article 35-A, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said that the Joint Resistance commends the resilience and steadfastness of people of Jammu and Kashmir for standing up against the ‘assault on our identity.’
In a tweet Mirwaiz said:

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown for the second consecutive day was observed across the valley and parts of Jammu against the abrogation of the State Subject Law. Amid restrictions, no Friday prayers were allowed in the historic Jamia Masjid.
Condemning, the act, Mirwaiz said:
11th Friday’s so far this year of lockdown of #JamaMasjid by imposing curfew & restrictions barring Muslims from offering Juma prayers there!
