Srinagar: While giving out the chilling details of the minor girl who was abducted by the stepmother and gang-raped by the victim’s step-brother and his friends in Uri area of Baramulla, SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain broke down and said, “never in my 20 years have I witnessed a case like this.”
“The girl’s eyes were removed. Acid had been thrown on her torso. We seized the acid bottles at her house. They had hit her on the head with an axe. I don’t have words to express what I have seen,” he said in a video, while revealing the events.
“This incident shows how far we have gone. Our state is filled with violence, anger, beastly behaviour,” he said. “We need to teach our children to be humans. We need to teach them humanity. This incident involves two minor young boys- it is beyond our understanding and patience,” he further said.
“The report had come to us on the 24th by the father, but the girl had been abducted, raped and killed on the 23rd itself. On the 23rd, the victim’s stepmother, after lunch, took her to the forest along with her son, Sahil. Three others accompanied them and then gang-raped her, choked her, hit her and threw acid on her,” he stated.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir police, in statement said that they had arrested five persons involved in the gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Uri area of Baramulla district.
Those arrested include her step mother and step brother.
A police spokesman said that an FIR was registered after a written complaint from the girl’s father on August 24 in which he stated that he feared his nine-year-old daughter has been abducted.
“On receipt of this complaint, case FIR No. 43/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in P/S Boniyar and investigation was taken up. Thereafter police made strenuous efforts to trace the missing girl by utilizing the available resources however the girl could not be traced out,” said the spokesman.
