CRPF man injured in suspected militant attack along J-K highway

Srinagar: A CRPF man was injured after suspected militants travelling on a truck fired at a CRPF naka party in Jajjar Kotli area along the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Wednesday. The injured man, identified as Domesh Dass, has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman stated that an AK-47 rifle and three magazines were recovered from the truck. Both the truck driver and the conductor have been taken into custody.

“One AK & 3 magazines recovered from the intercepted truck. Dvr,conductor taken into custody. 2-3 suspected militants who ran away from the truck are being chased.police army and Crpf activated.Cordon &search operation is on ahead of suketar v near Katra crossing National Highway,” police said in a statement via Twitter.

Earlier, armed forces conducted a massive cordon and search operation in Jajjar Kotli area along Jammu-Srinagar highway following shots.

“Soon after the incident, a massive search operation was launched in the area and high alert was also sounded,” said a police official. “The army also joined in the operations.”
