Srinagar: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Monday revoked the suspension and sedition charges against Kashmiri students who were suspended on charges of trying to organize a condolence meeting on the AMU campus for slain scholar turned Hizb commander Manan Bashir Wani.
“Yes, the suspension has been revoked. We will also convey the report of our fact-finding team to the district administration so that they can take a call on quashing the FIR too. We have always said and we reiterate that no student will be victimized by the administration,” AMU PRO Omar Peerzada said.
Earlier in a day, the Alumni meet at Aligarh Muslim University witnessed a silent protest by Kashmir students including girls, against the sedition charges, suspension and showcase notices issued to students.
