Titanic II, the successor to Titanic which sunk on its maiden voyage after it collided with an iceberg, is all set to sail across the Atlantic in 2022. It will reportedly use the same route as its 1912 predecessor and will carry nearly the exact same number of passengers and crew members as the original ship had which is 2,400 and 900 respectively, Mirror reported.
It is also reportedly created in the same outfit as the previous ship- with the same cabin layouts but with additional modern safety features which include more lifeboats and modern navigation and radar equipment, so that potential icebergs can be spotted in advance, Daily Mail reported.
The new ship is being constructed in China by the Australian based company Blue Star Line after a long-running financial dispute held up the project for several years. The project will approximately cost $500 million.
