Srinagar: In the Ghat Khudwani area of Kulgam where armed forces have launched a cordon and search operation, at least three youth have been injured in clashes.
According to reports, the search operation is still on despite the ongoing clashes.
An official said that three militants are believed to be hiding in the area. “Searches are underway,” he said, adding that reinforcements have been rushed to the area to prevent militants from escaping.
So far, no contact has been established with the militants, he said.
Earlier, it was reported that that youth took to streets and clashed with the forces after the latter launched a CASO in the area. The search operation was launched after inputs about presence of militants in the area.
Kulgam has been on the edge since the killing of seven civilians in a blast at a gunfight site in the Laroo village recently.
