KCCI launches calendar of Vowcare that promotes spirit of entrepreneurship, features 12 successful ventures

Srinagar: To boost the morale of entrepreneurs in the valley, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday launched a calendar of Vowcare Products which features 12 successful ventures from across Kashmir.

Speaking during the event, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmed, President of KCCI said, “the calendar promotes the spirit of entrepreneurs operating in Kashmir. It features 12 ventures from various sectors that have not only sustained in tough conditions but have grown and generated employment.”

Taking about the idea, Gowher Wani, owner, Vowcare Products, said that people should recognize these achievers by face.

“In order to promote the budding entrepreneurs that every year get overlooked under the shadow of picturesque landscapes of Gulmarg and Pahalgam valley on the cover page of various calendars, we thought why not market our young businessmen,” Wani said.

He added, “the message was to encourage the youth who are providing employment in the valley through their business. I want people to recognize these entrepreneurs by face as they have been providing people with opportunities to work and earn. Their contribution for Kashmir is not less.”

Talking about some entrepreneurs who have featured in the calendar, Wani said, “for instance Peaks owned by Balbir gave jobs to more than 700 people in the valley and Kawal Masala generated about 300 to 400 jobs. They have been working for Kashmir and now we need to recognize these faces.”
