Mehbooba shouldn’t be taken seriously, her party is breaking up, says Guv Malik

Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has said that the no one should take former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti seriously as her party is breaking up, reported IANS.

Malik added that in a bid to save her party, she is commenting against the Indian political system.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Jammu, Malik said: “Elections are round the corner, her party is breaking up. Her party is in a bad shape. She had come to power by stirring anti-India sentiments. Nobody should take her statements seriously.”

Malik said her statements will not affect the morale of the security forces.

In her latest statements, Mehbooba Mufti has been critical of the Governor and Narendra Modi, accusing both of furthering a Hindutva agenda detrimental to “the soul and spirit of the country’s democratic set-up”.

Earlier in a tweet, Mehbooba had said that political lines in Indian are getting blurred and it is becoming difficult to differentiate between the BJP and Congress.

She added that it is ‘Hindutva that drives the real politik in Kashmir.’

Reacting to Malik’s comments, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah said that it won’t be long before people stop taking Raj Bhavan seriously.
