Congress state President says that there is no point in commenting on those who do not respect their mother, sister
A Parliament member of BJP from Basti, Harish Dwivedi, while visiting Uttar Pradesh, was caught in a video stating that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra “wears jeans in Delhi and dons a sari and sindoor when coming here”, before her arrival in the state.
While speaking to reporters, he said: “If Rahul is a failure, Priyanka is also a failure. You all are seeing raids being conducted across the world. Properties are being found. This is not an issue.”
“Everyone knows that when Priyanka Gandhi is in Delhi, she wears jeans and top, but when she comes here, she wears saree and sindoor,” he claimed.
In response, Congress state president Raj Babbar said, “There is no point in commenting on those who don’t give respect to their mother and sister.”
Priyanka Gandhi has been appointed as the Congress party’s general secretary in-charge of eastern UP and is expected to make her maiden visit to the state on Monday. She will be accompanied by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia, the party’s western Uttar Pradesh in-charge as the three arrive in UP capital Lucknow.
“I have hope that together we will start a new kind of politics, a politics in which all of you will be stakeholders. Come, let’s build a new future, new politics with me,” Priyanka Gandhi told party workers and supporters through Congress’ Shakti App on Sunday.
Priyanka is being hailed as a game-changer in the political scenario, months before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the country. Many local party leaders and supporters are looking forward to her visit, placing banners which read ‘The Time has come for change (Waqt Hai Badlav Ka)’.
