Srinagar: Curfew was imposed in several parts of Jammu, including Gujjar Nagar after unruly mobs torched vehicles after violent protests broke out in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack in which 49 CRPF personnel were killed.
ANI reported that the authorities imposed curfew in Bus Stand, Nawabad, Bakshi Nagar, Peer Mitha, Pacca Danga, Channi Himmat, Janipur, Domana, and Bagh-E-Bahu areas.
The curfew was imposed after unruly mobs torched several vehicles and vandalised many others.
The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry had called for a shutdown in Jammu while Jammu Bar Association supported it. National Conference had also supported the Bandh call.
Reports said that a large contingent of forces has been deployed in the area to control the situation.
Condemning violence, NC Vice President said that Kashmiris and Muslims didn’t attack the CRPF convey, terrorists did.
Kashmiris/Muslims in Jammu didn’t attack our CRPF jawans yesterday, terrorists did. This violence is a convenient tool by some to shift the blame. Let’s unite against terror let’s not allow terror to divide us.

PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, in a tweet said that it would a travesty to use the terror attack as an excuse to target minorities.
Distressed to hear about miscreants in Jammu trying to take advantage of the situation by inciting tension. Guv adm should have preempted this by securing minority dominated areas. Have spoken to IG Jammu to deploy additional security.

It will be a travesty & against the spirit of our secular ethno-cultural values to use this terror attack as an excuse to target minorities. Hour of the need is to show compassion & come together.
