Pulwama attack aftermath: Direct state Govts to take ‘special care of Kashmiris’: Omar appeals Rajnath

Srinagar: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has appealed to the Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh to direct all state governments to take ‘special care of areas where Kashmiris as residing or studying.’

Ina tweet, Omar said:


Curfew was imposed in various parts of Jammu after mobs torched vehicles in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack in which 49 CRPF personnel were killed.

ANI reported that the authorities imposed curfew in Bus Stand, Nawabad, Bakshi Nagar, Peer Mitha, Pacca Danga, Channi Himmat, Janipur, Domana, and Bagh-E-Bahu areas.

The curfew was imposed after unruly mobs torched several vehicles and vandalised many others.

The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry had called for a shutdown in Jammu while Jammu Bar Association supported it. National Conference had also supported the Bandh call.

Reports said that a large contingent of forces has been deployed in the area to control the situation.

Condemning violence, NC Vice President said that Kashmiris and Muslims didn’t attack the CRPF convey, terrorists did.
