Srinagar: Landslides halted traffic on the Jammu and Kashmir highway on Wednesday, with the weather forecasting moderate rain and snow in the region during the next 24 hours, IANS reported.

“Nightlong rain has triggered landslides at few places on the highway in the Ramsoo-Ramban sector. We have momentarily halted traffic for the safety of travellers,” an official of the traffic department was quoted as having said in the report.

The official said that traffic will be allowed once the landslide debris is cleared.

Stock supply of essentials like edibles and petroleum products have stabilized following the opening of the highway on February 12.
