Srinagar: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday asked that why is Government of India is so ‘uncomfortable’ with the Jamaat-e-Islami.
The former Chief Minister while reacting over the ban imposed over the organization, adding that while Hindu groups are given ‘carte blanche to spread misinformation & vitiate the atmosphere. But an organization that has worked tirelessly for Kashmiris is banned.’
Why is GoI so uncomfortable with Jamaat e Islami? Radicalised Hindu groups representing fringe elements are given carte blanche to spread misinformation & vitiate the atmosphere. But an org that has worked tirelessly for Kashmiris is banned. Is being anti BJP anti national now?

In another tweet Mehbooba added that ‘ideas cannot be banned or jailed, need a better idea to replace it.’Democracy is a battle of ideas , crackdown followed by banning of Jammat Islami (jk) is condemnable , another example of high handedness and muscular approach of GOI to deal with political issue of J&k .

Earlier, the Government of India said that Jamaat-e-Islami (JK) is responsible for the formation of Hizbul Mujahidden, which is the biggest militant organization active in Jammu and Kashmir.GoI also said that the organization is also responsible for ‘propagation of separatist and radical ideology and the organization has nothing to do with Jamaat-e-Islami.
