JK is not NC’s estate, says Mehbooba after Omar calls ’emergence of new parties Delhi’s ploy to divide mandate’

Srinagar: PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has hit out at National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah for dubbing emerging parties in the state as ‘New Delhi’s ploy to divide the mandate.’

Mehbooba while lashing out at Omar said that National Conference should not consider the JK as its ‘own estate.’

“It is unfortunate that National conference considers Jammu and Kashmir as its own estate. When (former Chief Minister) Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed brought Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, they called them worms of dirty drain (as a Delhi’s party),” Mehbooba said.

“When PDP was formed, they alleged the same thing. Today when Shah Faseal formed a new outfit, Omar Abdullah says the same thing,” she added.

The former Chief Minister further added, “It is a democratic country and everyone has the right to form one’s own party and do politics. Jammu and Kashmir is not a personal property of the NC,” she added.

Mehbooba’s statement comes after Peoples Conference Chief Sajad Lone said that Omar needs ‘mental rehab’ for opposing emergence of new political ventures.

“Do we have to give power to Omar Abdullah after Maharaja Hari Singh. He got Kashmiris killed in 2010. Before that his father got killed and maimed people from 1996 to 2002. Before that his father rigged elections in 1987,” Lone had said.

Lone said if Shah Faesal had joined National Conference, then for Omar, he was a good person. “Now he has launched his own party, so he becomes Delhi’s agent. Omar should get his mental system treated,” he said.
