A convoy of the Bharitya Janata Party (BJP) was attacked by Naxals in the Dantewada region of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
News agency ANI reported that Bharitya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Bheema Mandavi was also in the convoy, that was attacked by Naxals.
As per initial reports, at least five people are believed to be dead.

The incident comes hours after attack on RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma was attacked in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP Spokesperson Sunil Sethi confirmed that Sharma died at GMC, Jammu. Medical Assistant Chandrakant Sharma working at Kishtwar district hospital was injured in an attack by unknown gunmen while his PSO was shot dead.
