Srinagar: After the Sub District Magistrate of Dooru area and other employees were beaten up by the Army, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has said that ‘is this what we (Kashmiris) deserve for choosing India over Pakistan’?
In a tweet, Mehbooba said that Army thrashing civilians is not a new thing but manhandling officers marks a new low.
Army thrashing civilians in the state is nothing new. But manhandling civil officers marks a new low. The valley & its people are being choked to a silent death. For how long will you oppress them in their own land? Is this what we deserve for choosing India over Pakistan? https://t.co/JOeOzlcce7

The SDM and his employees have said in their complaint that the Army men ‘unlocked the safety of their weapons and threatened to kill them.’
While demanding immediate action, former IAS officer Shah Faesal hoped that Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) won’t come in the way of taking action against the erring officer.
