Srinagar: Fresh firing resumed between militants and armed forces at Dragad Sugan area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
A senior Police officer told GNS that after searches for nearly 7 hours, a fresh contact has been established with the hiding militants.
Till this report was being filed heavy exchange of firing was going on.
Earlier, two bodies were recovered by the joint team of forces,he said, adding that the identities of the slain is being ascertained.
The officer said that cordon was launched on specific information about the presence of some militants.
As such the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot in the orchards, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight. (GNS)
