Kathua rape-murder case: Victory belongs to all communities, will appeal for capital punishment, says victim’s counsel

Advocate Mubeen Farooqui, the counsel of the vcitim’s family in the Kathua rape and murder case has said that this victory was of all the communities Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians.

“It’s victory of truth (Satyamev Jayate). This victory belongs to all the communities, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians,” he said.

Advocate Farooqui said that charges of rape have been proved on Sanjhi Ram, Deepak Khajuria and Parvesh while others have been convicted for rape and murder and destruction of evidence. “We will appeal for capital punishment to the convicts,” he said.

Earlier, six out of the seven accused were convicted by the Pathankot court. Three of them were convicted on the charges of rape and murder, and the other three have been convicted on the charges of destroying evidence.
