‘We live here. We have a house here. They told us that they rule this place’
Srinagar: Armed Forces on Sunday physically assaulted an elderly Kashmiri Pandit in Levdoora area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
The victim, Krishan Raina said that he was out to get medicines for his wife when the incident happened.
“They asked me to stop my vehicle and go back. I was already far away. Then they got furious and beat me. They even asked me what I was doing here as a Hindu,” Raina said.
He says that the armed forces men attacked him with batons and also damaged his vehicle.
Raina, who was travelling with his wife has sustained injuries on his arms, ears, legs and back. He said that locals helped him by ‘pleading’ to the forces, and in return they were also beaten.
Locals rushed to the spot, starting protesting, and finally managed to rescue him. He was then rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.
