Srinagar: The Batote-Kishtwar National Highway (NH1B) was on Thursday blocked in more than one areas areas due to massive mudslides triggered by incessant rains.
An official said that the administration has started the restoration work but continuous rains and shooting stones are hampering the efforts.
Vehicles carrying essential commodities as well as passengers remained stuck at several places.
An official said that the administration is trying to restore the road for traffic as soon as possible.
Premnagar side of the highway has been restored and work on Kandni landslide is going on.
The traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway was temporarily suspended on Wednesday evening after cloudburst and rains triggered landslides at several places near Zojila Pass.
Reports said hundreds of light and heavy vehicles, mostly trucks, were stranded on both sides of the Pass.
