Anantnag: Police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered huge quantity of illicit liquor in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
As per police, during checking at Bumzoo KP Road, SHO PS Mattan along with his team stopped one person namely Farooq Ahmad Ganai of Seer Hamdan, who was carrying a bag.
Police has said that during the search 25 bottles of liquor were recovered from his possession.
However, on further questioning police learned that Farooq had dumped a huge stock of liquor in his yard.
Police party rushed to the spot and recovered 440 bottles more liquor bottles which was dumped in the yard of his house.
In this regard Case FIR number 66/2020 under section 48 Excise Act stands registered and investigation is taken up.
