Srinagar: Army on Wednesday claimed to have foiled an infiltration attempt by killing a militant in Keri area of Bhimber Gali Sector in Rajouri district.
In a statement issued to media, an army spokesman said that based on a specific intelligence inputs from J&K Police, a joint operation was launched close to Line of Control in Keri area of Bhimber Gali Sector in District Rajouri.
The statement added that as soon as troops saw militants crossing the Line of Control, they foiled the infiltration bid resulting in killing of a militant.
“An AK-47 along with two magazines was recovered from the spot,” the spokesman said, adding, “the search operation is in progress.”
