CRPF trooper injured in IED blast on Srinagar-Pulwama road

Srinagar: An armed forces personnel was injured on Sunday morning after a blast occurred near the convoy of CRPF party at circular road near Gangoo in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

“Some kind of low level Blast occurred near the convoy of CRPF, in which one CRPF personnel received minor injuries,” news agency quoted a senior Police officer as saying. He further said that the nature blast is still be being verified.

Soon after the incident, forces  had began searches in the area, however; during the searches one more IED was found at the same place.

Meanwhile, forces have cordoned off the area and other investigations have been taken.

Police in a statement issued this afternoon, said that at around 07:28, in the morning, an IED blast took place in an orchard area near peaks auto mobile Pulwama. In the incident, a CRPF personnel  received minor injuries and is stable now. At the place of incident, a routine joint naka of police and CRPF remains established on daily basis.

Police said that as soon as the joint team of forces personnel reached on spot, one more IED  was detected in the area and accordingly defused by joint party.

In this regard, Police has taken the cognizance and started has been investigation.
