Kashmir Civitas, an international civil society committed to moral upliftment & economic empowerment of Kashmir, released the video on their You Tube channel.

Hadiqa Kianihas received numerous local and international awards and also has performed at the most prestigious venues in the world, including Royal Albert Hall and The Kennedy Center.

Earlier this month Hadiqa also took to twitter to express solidarity after the killing of a civilian Bashir Ahmed Khan in Sopore.

“No more bloodshed! Don’t let this become another story that is brushed under the rug. We cannot stand for w injustice. We need peace, we need to protect the people of Kashmir, we need a solution from BOTH sides, a solution that puts an end to the evils plaguing Kashmir!” Hadiqa tweeted on the micro-blogging site.

Meanwhile, in Kashmir as per the revised list of gazette holidays issued by the government, there is no holiday and official functions to commemorate martyrs’ day in Jammu and Kashmir today.

The decision passed last year; to not to commemorate the day, is happening for the first time since 1948.
