JK reports 470 new COVID cases, 10,402 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 470 new COVID cases- 161 from Jammu division and 309 from Kashmir, have been reported thus taking the total number of cases in JK to 18,390.

According to the numbers provided by the administration, nine COVID deaths were also reported from Kashmir today.

Moreover, 474 more patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 112 from the Jammu division and 362 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 18,390 positive cases, 7,667 are Active Positive, 10,402 have recovered and 321 have died; 23 in Jammu division and 298 in Kashmir.

The Bulletin further said that out of 5,92,482 test results available, 574092 samples have been tested as negative till July 27, 2020.

Additionally, till date, 3,57,927 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 45,645 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 12 in Hospital Quarantine, 7,667 in hospital isolation and 40267 under home surveillance. Besides, 2,64,015 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration has also evacuated about 2,65,687 JK residents, stranded in parts of India due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the administration has received 96 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 80,765 passengers while about 1,84,922 persons from other states and UTs including 901 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.
