Unidentified persons attack civilian with knife in Pulwama

Srinagar: A civilian was injured after he was attacked with a knife by unidentified persons in Karimabad village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

Eyewitnesses said that a youth identified as Sahil Ahmad Tramboo, son of Muhammad Ashan Tramboo of Murran Pulwama was stabbed and beaten by unknown persons, leaving him badly injured.

Tramboo was beaten and injured in the orchards in Karimabad area of Pulwama district, adding that the injured was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment where from he was shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

A senior police official while confirming the incident said that investigation into the matter is going on.

Locals told Free Press Kashmir that at around 9:00 am, armed forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation in Karimabad and subsequently door to door searches were launched.

Locals also said that a civilian was also injured during the clashes between armed forces and civilians.

Meanwhile, a senior doctor from District Hospital Pulwama told FPK that the injured youth has received a penetrating injury on the chest by a sharp object.

“We gave him the first aid treatment and referred to Srinagar hospital for the advanced treatment,” the doctor said.
